    What is the Inevitable Hour?

    • ﯕ ﯖ ﯗ ﯘﯙ

    Transliteration

    wama adraka ma alhaqqatu

    Yusuf Ali

    And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is?

    Saheeh International

    And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality?

    Shakir

    And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is!

    Daryabadi

    And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is?

    Transliteration

    kaththabat thamoodu waAAadun bialqariAAati

    Yusuf Ali

    The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity!

    Saheeh International

    Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity.

    Shakir

    Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie.

    Daryabadi

    The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    The tribes of Thamud and ‘Ad denied that disaster would strike them:

    • ﯟ ﯠ ﯡ ﯢﯣ

    Transliteration

    faamma thamoodu faohlikoo bialttaghiyati

    Yusuf Ali

    But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning!

    Saheeh International

    So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast].

    Shakir

    Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment.

    Daryabadi

    As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning;

    • ﯤ ﯥ ﯦ ﯧ ﯨ ﯩﯪ

    Transliteration

    waamma AAadun faohlikoo bireehin sarsarin AAatiyatin

    Yusuf Ali

    And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent;

    Saheeh International

    And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind

    Shakir

    And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast.

    Daryabadi

    And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious. roaring.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    and the ‘Ad were destroyed by a furious wind

    • ﯫ ﯬ ﯭ ﯮ ﯯ ﯰ ﯱ ﯲ ﯳ ﯴ ﯵ ﯶ ﯷ ﯸ ﯹﯺ

    Transliteration

    sakhkharaha AAalayhim sabAAa layalin wathamaniyata ayyamin husooman fatara alqawma feeha sarAAa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin khawiyatun

    Yusuf Ali

    He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down!

    Saheeh International

    Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.

    Shakir

    Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms.

    Daryabadi

    To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down.

    • ﯻ ﯼ ﯽ ﯾ ﯿﰀ

    Transliteration

    fahal tara lahum min baqiyatin

    Yusuf Ali

    Then seest thou any of them left surviving?

    Saheeh International

    Then do you see of them any remains?

    Shakir

    Do you then see of them one remaining?

    Daryabadi

    Beholdest thou any of them remaining?

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Do you see any vestige left of them now?

    • ﭑ ﭒ ﭓ ﭔ ﭕ ﭖﭗ

    Transliteration

    wajaa firAAawnu waman qablahu waalmutafikatu bialkhatiati

    Yusuf Ali

    And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin.

    Saheeh International

    And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin.

    Shakir

    And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins.

    Daryabadi

    And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins.

    • ﭘ ﭙ ﭚ ﭛ ﭜ ﭝﭞ

    Transliteration

    faAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahum akhthatan rabiyatan

    Yusuf Ali

    And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty.

    Saheeh International

    And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity].

    Shakir

    And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment.

    Daryabadi

    And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    They defied their Lord’s messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip.

    • ﭟ ﭠ ﭡ ﭢ ﭣ ﭤ ﭥﭦ

    Transliteration

    inna lamma tagha almao hamalnakum fee aljariyati

    Yusuf Ali

    We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark),

    Saheeh International

    Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship

    Shakir

    Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high,

    Daryabadi

    Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high,

    • ﭧ ﭨ ﭩ ﭪ ﭫ ﭬﭭ

    Transliteration

    linajAAalaha lakum tathkiratan wataAAiyaha othunun waAAiyatun

    Yusuf Ali

    That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance.

    Saheeh International

    That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it.

    Shakir

    So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it.

    Daryabadi

    That We might make it Unto you an admonition, and thot it might be retained by the retaining ears.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it.

    • ﭮ ﭯ ﭰ ﭱ ﭲ ﭳﭴ

    Transliteration

    faitha nufikha fee alssoori nafkhatun wahidatun

    Yusuf Ali

    Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet,

    Saheeh International

    Then when the Horn is blown with one blast

    Shakir

    And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast,

    Daryabadi

    And when the Trumpet shall sound a single blast.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    When a single blast is blown on the trumpet,

    • ﭵ ﭶ ﭷ ﭸ ﭹ ﭺﭻ

    Transliteration

    wahumilati alardu waaljibalu fadukkata dakkatan wahidatan

    Yusuf Ali

    And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,-

    Saheeh International

    And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow -

    Shakir

    And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing.

    Daryabadi

    And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow,

    • ﭼ ﭽ ﭾﭿ

    Transliteration

    fayawmaithin waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu

    Yusuf Ali

    On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass.

    Saheeh International

    Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur,

    Shakir

    On that day shall the great event come to pass,

    Daryabadi

    Then on that Day shall happen the Event.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    on that Day the Great Event will come to pass.

    • ﮀ ﮁ ﮂ ﮃ ﮄﮅ

    Transliteration

    wainshaqqati alssamao fahiya yawmaithin wahiyatun

    Yusuf Ali

    And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy,

    Saheeh International

    And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm.

    Shakir

    And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail,

    Daryabadi

    And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail.

    • ﮆ ﮇ ﮈﮉ ﮊ ﮋ ﮌ ﮍ ﮎ ﮏﮐ

    Transliteration

    waalmalaku AAala arjaiha wayahmilu AAarsha rabbika fawqahum yawmaithin thamaniyatun

    Yusuf Ali

    And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them.

    Saheeh International

    And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].

    Shakir

    And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power.

    Daryabadi

    And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord’s throne above them.

    • ﮑ ﮒ ﮓ ﮔ ﮕ ﮖﮗ

    Transliteration

    yawmaithin tuAAradoona la takhfa minkum khafiyatun

    Yusuf Ali

    That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden.

    Saheeh International

    That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed.

    Shakir

    On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden.

    Daryabadi

    The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden.

    • ﮘ ﮙ ﮚ ﮛ ﮜ ﮝ ﮞ ﮟ ﮠﮡ

    Transliteration

    faamma man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi fayaqoolu haomu iqraoo kitabiyah

    Yusuf Ali

    Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record!

    Saheeh International

    So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record!

    Shakir

    Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book:

    Daryabadi

    Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book!

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, ‘Here is my record, read it.

    • ﮢ ﮣ ﮤ ﮥ ﮦﮧ

    Transliteration

    innee thanantu annee mulaqin hisabiyah

    Yusuf Ali

    "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!"

    Saheeh International

    Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account."

    Shakir

    Surely I knew that I shall meet my account.

    Daryabadi

    Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning,’

    • ﮨ ﮩ ﮪ ﮫﮬ

    Transliteration

    fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin

    Yusuf Ali

    And he will be in a life of Bliss,

    Saheeh International

    So he will be in a pleasant life -

    Shakir

    So he shall be in a life of pleasure,

    Daryabadi

    Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing -

    Wahiduddin Khan

    so he will live in a state of Bliss

    • ﮭ ﮮ ﮯﮰ

    Transliteration

    fee jannatin AAaliyatin

    Yusuf Ali

    In a Garden on high,

    Saheeh International

    In an elevated garden,

    Shakir

    In a lofty garden,

    Daryabadi

    In a Garden lofty.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    in a lofty garden,

    • ﮱ ﯓﯔ

    Transliteration

    qutoofuha daniyatun

    Yusuf Ali

    The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near.

    Saheeh International

    Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near.

    Shakir

    The fruits of which are near at hand:

    Daryabadi

    Clusters whereof shall be near at hand.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    with clusters of fruit within easy reach.

    • ﯕ ﯖ ﯗ ﯘ ﯙ ﯚ ﯛ ﯜﯝ

    Transliteration

    kuloo waishraboo haneean bima aslaftum fee alayyami alkhaliyati

    Yusuf Ali

    "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!"

    Saheeh International

    [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past."

    Shakir

    Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by.

    Daryabadi

    Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in dayspast.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    We shall say to him, ‘Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by.’

    • ﯞ ﯟ ﯠ ﯡ ﯢ ﯣ ﯤ ﯥ ﯦ ﯧﯨ

    Transliteration

    waamma man ootiya kitabahu bishimalihi fayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oota kitabiyah

    Yusuf Ali

    And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me!

    Saheeh International

    But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record

    Shakir

    And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me:

    Daryabadi

    Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, ‘If only I had never been given my Record

    • ﯩ ﯪ ﯫ ﯬﯭ

    Transliteration

    walam adri ma hisabiyah

    Yusuf Ali

    "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)!

    Saheeh International

    And had not known what is my account.

    Shakir

    And I had not known what my account was:

    Daryabadi

    Nor known whatever was my reckoning!

    Wahiduddin Khan

    and knew nothing of my reckoning.

    • ﯮ ﯯ ﯰﯱ

    Transliteration

    ya laytaha kanati alqadiyatu

    Yusuf Ali

    "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me!

    Saheeh International

    I wish my death had been the decisive one.

    Shakir

    O would that it had made an end (of me):

    Daryabadi

    Oh, would that it had been the ending!

    Wahiduddin Khan

    How I wish my death had ended all.

    • ﯲ ﯳ ﯴ ﯵﯶﯷ

    Transliteration

    ma aghna AAannee maliyah

    Yusuf Ali

    "Of no profit to me has been my wealth!

    Saheeh International

    My wealth has not availed me.

    Shakir

    My wealth has availed me nothing:

    Daryabadi

    My riches have: availed me not;

    Wahiduddin Khan

    My wealth has been of no use to me.

    • ﯸ ﯹ ﯺﯻ

    Transliteration

    halaka AAannee sultaniyah

    Yusuf Ali

    "My power has perished from me!"...

    Saheeh International

    Gone from me is my authority."

    Shakir

    My authority is gone away from me.

    Daryabadi

    There hath perished from me my authority.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    I am bereft of power.’

    Transliteration

    khuthoohu faghulloohu

    Yusuf Ali

    (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him,

    Saheeh International

    [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him.

    Shakir

    Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him,

    Daryabadi

    Lay hold of him and chain him;

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Seize him and fetter him,

    • ﯿ ﰀ ﰁﰂ

    Transliteration

    thumma aljaheema salloohu

    Yusuf Ali

    "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire.

    Saheeh International

    Then into Hellfire drive him.

    Shakir

    Then cast him into the burning fire,

    Daryabadi

    Then in the Scorch roast him

    Wahiduddin Khan

    and then let him enter Hell.

    • ﰃ ﰄ ﰅ ﰆ ﰇ ﰈ ﰉﰊ

    Transliteration

    thumma fee silsilatin tharAAuha sabAAoona thiraAAan faoslukoohu

    Yusuf Ali

    "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits!

    Saheeh International

    Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him."

    Shakir

    Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits.

    Daryabadi

    Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long:

    • ﰋ ﰌ ﰍ ﰎ ﰏ ﰐﰑ

    Transliteration

    innahu kana la yuminu biallahi alAAatheemi

    Yusuf Ali

    "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High.

    Saheeh International

    Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah, the Most Great,

    Shakir

    Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great,

    Daryabadi

    Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    for he did not believe in Almighty God,

    • ﰒ ﰓ ﰔ ﰕ ﰖﰗ

    Transliteration

    wala yahuddu AAala taAAami almiskeeni

    Yusuf Ali

    "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent!

    Saheeh International

    Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor.

    Shakir

    Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor.

    Daryabadi

    Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy,

    • ﭑ ﭒ ﭓ ﭔ ﭕﭖ

    Transliteration

    falaysa lahu alyawma hahuna hameemun

    Yusuf Ali

    "So no friend hath he here this Day.

    Saheeh International

    So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend

    Shakir

    Therefore he has not here today a true friend,

    Daryabadi

    Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    so today he has no friend here,

    • ﭗ ﭘ ﭙ ﭚ ﭛﭜ

    Transliteration

    wala taAAamun illa min ghisleenin

    Yusuf Ali

    "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds,

    Saheeh International

    Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds;

    Shakir

    Nor any food except refuse,

    Daryabadi

    Nor any food save filthy corruption.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    and the only food he has is filth

    • ﭝ ﭞ ﭟ ﭠﭡ

    Transliteration

    la yakuluhu illa alkhatioona

    Yusuf Ali

    "Which none do eat but those in sin."

    Saheeh International

    None will eat it except the sinners.

    Shakir

    Which none but the wrongdoers eat.

    Daryabadi

    None shall eat it but the sinners.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    which no one will eat except the sinners.

    • ﭢ ﭣ ﭤ ﭥﭦ

    Transliteration

    fala oqsimu bima tubsiroona

    Yusuf Ali

    So I do call to witness what ye see,

    Saheeh International

    So I swear by what you see

    Shakir

    But nay! I swear by that which you see,

    Daryabadi

    I swear by that which ye see.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    But nay, I swear by all that you can see

    • ﭧ ﭨ ﭩﭪ

    Transliteration

    wama la tubsiroona

    Yusuf Ali

    And what ye see not,

    Saheeh International

    And what you do not see

    Shakir

    And that which you do not see.

    Daryabadi

    And that which ye see not.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    as well as all that you cannot see:

    • ﭫ ﭬ ﭭ ﭮﭯ

    Transliteration

    innahu laqawlu rasoolin kareemin

    Yusuf Ali

    That this is verily the word of an honoured messenger;

    Saheeh International

    [That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger.

    Shakir

    Most surely, it is the Word brought by an honored Apostle,

    Daryabadi

    That it is surely the speech brought by messenger honourable.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    most surely, this is the word brought by a noble messenger,

    • ﭰ ﭱ ﭲ ﭳﭴ ﭵ ﭶ ﭷﭸ

    Transliteration

    wama huwa biqawli shaAAirin qaleelan ma tuminoona

    Yusuf Ali

    It is not the word of a poet: little it is ye believe!

    Saheeh International

    And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe.

    Shakir

    And it is not the word of a poet; little is it that you believe;

    Daryabadi

    And it is not the speech of a poet. Little it is that ye believe

    Wahiduddin Khan

    it is not the word of a poet—how little you believe!—

    • ﭹ ﭺ ﭻﭼ ﭽ ﭾ ﭿﮀ

    Transliteration

    wala biqawli kahinin qaleelan ma tathakkaroona

    Yusuf Ali

    Nor is it the word of a soothsayer: little admonition it is ye receive.

    Saheeh International

    Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember.

    Shakir

    Nor the word of a soothsayer; little is it that you mind.

    Daryabadi

    Nor is it the speech of a sooth- sayer. Little are ye admonished.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Nor is it the word of a soothsayer—how little you reflect!

    • ﮁ ﮂ ﮃ ﮄﮅ

    Transliteration

    tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena

    Yusuf Ali

    (This is) a Message sent down from the Lord of the Worlds.

    Saheeh International

    [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

    Shakir

    It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

    Daryabadi

    It is a Revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    It is a revelation sent down by the Sustainer of the Universe:

    • ﮆ ﮇ ﮈ ﮉ ﮊﮋ

    Transliteration

    walaw taqawwala AAalayna baAAda alaqaweeli

    Yusuf Ali

    And if the messenger were to invent any sayings in Our name,

    Saheeh International

    And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] sayings,

    Shakir

    And if he had fabricated against Us some of the sayings,

    Daryabadi

    And if he had forged concerning us some discourses.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    if he had invented any lies about Us,

    • ﮌ ﮍ ﮎﮏ

    Transliteration

    laakhathna minhu bialyameeni

    Yusuf Ali

    We should certainly seize him by his right hand,

    Saheeh International

    We would have seized him by the right hand;

    Shakir

    We would certainly have seized him by the right hand,

    Daryabadi

    We surely had lain hold of him by the right hand.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    We would indeed have seized him by his right hand

    • ﮐ ﮑ ﮒ ﮓﮔ

    Transliteration

    thumma laqataAAna minhu alwateena

    Yusuf Ali

    And We should certainly then cut off the artery of his heart:

    Saheeh International

    Then We would have cut from him the aorta.

    Shakir

    Then We would certainly have cut off his aorta.

    Daryabadi

    And then severed his life-vein.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    and would indeed have cut his life-vein,

    • ﮕ ﮖ ﮗ ﮘ ﮙ ﮚﮛ

    Transliteration

    fama minkum min ahadin AAanhu hajizeena

    Yusuf Ali

    Nor could any of you withhold him (from Our wrath).

    Saheeh International

    And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him.

    Shakir

    And not one of you could have withheld Us from him.

    Daryabadi

    And not one of you would have withheld us from punishing him.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    and none of you could have held Us off from him.

    • ﮜ ﮝ ﮞﮟ

    Transliteration

    wainnahu latathkiratun lilmuttaqeena

    Yusuf Ali

    But verily this is a Message for the Allah-fearing.

    Saheeh International

    And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteous.

    Shakir

    And most surely it is a reminder for those who guard (against evil).

    Daryabadi

    And verily it is an Admonition Unto the God-fearing.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    And surely it is an admonition to the God-fearing.

    • ﮠ ﮡ ﮢ ﮣ ﮤﮥ

    Transliteration

    wainna lanaAAlamu anna minkum mukaththibeena

    Yusuf Ali

    And We certainly know that there are amongst you those that reject (it).

    Saheeh International

    And indeed, We know that among you are deniers.

    Shakir

    And most surely We know that some of you are rejecters.

    Daryabadi

    And verily We! We know that some among you are beliers thereof.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    We know very well that there are some among you who reject Our signs—

    • ﮦ ﮧ ﮨ ﮩﮪ

    Transliteration

    wainnahu lahasratun AAala alkafireena

    Yusuf Ali

    But truly (Revelation) is a cause of sorrow for the Unbelievers.

    Saheeh International

    And indeed, it will be [a cause of] regret upon the disbelievers.

    Shakir

    And most surely it is a great grief to the unbelievers.

    Daryabadi

    And verily it shall be an occasion of anguish Unto the infidels.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    it will be a source of bitter regret for those who deny the truth—

    • ﮫ ﮬ ﮭﮮ

    Transliteration

    wainnahu lahaqqu alyaqeeni

    Yusuf Ali

    But verily it is Truth of assured certainty.

    Saheeh International

    And indeed, it is the truth of certainty.

    Shakir

    And most surely it is the true certainty

    Daryabadi

    And verily it is the truth of assured certainty.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    it is the indubitable truth.

    • ﮯ ﮰ ﮱ ﯓﯔ

    Transliteration

    fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi

    Yusuf Ali

    So glorify the name of thy Lord Most High.

    Saheeh International

    So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.

    Shakir

    Therefore-glorify the name of your Lord, the Great.

    Daryabadi

    Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    So glorify the name of your Lord, the Almighty.
