    taseen tilka ayatu alqurani wakitabin mubeenin

    Yusuf Ali

    These are verses of the Qur'an,-a book that makes (things) clear;

    Saheeh International

    Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a clear Book

    Shakir

    Ta Sin! These are the verses of the Quran and the Book that makes (things) clear

    Daryabadi

    Ta. Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Book luminous.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Ta Sin. These are verses from the Quran, a book that makes things clear;

    Transliteration

    hudan wabushra lilmumineena

    Yusuf Ali

    A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,-

    Saheeh International

    As guidance and good tidings for the believers

    Shakir

    A guidance and good news for the believers,

    Daryabadi

    A guidance and glad tidings unto the believers.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    it is guidance and good news for the believers

    • ﭝ ﭞ ﭟ ﭠ ﭡ ﭢ ﭣ ﭤ ﭥﭦ

    Transliteration

    allatheena yuqeemoona alssalata wayutoona alzzakata wahum bialakhirati hum yooqinoona

    Yusuf Ali

    Those who establish regular prayers and give in regular charity, and also have (full) assurance of the hereafter.

    Saheeh International

    Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

    Shakir

    Who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and of the hereafter, they are sure.

    Daryabadi

    Who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate, and of the Hereafter they are convinced.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    who pray regularly and pay obligatory alms and have firm faith in the Hereafter.

    • ﭧ ﭨ ﭩ ﭪ ﭫ ﭬ ﭭ ﭮ ﭯ ﭰﭱ

    Transliteration

    inna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati zayyanna lahum aAAmalahum fahum yaAAmahoona

    Yusuf Ali

    As to those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds pleasing in their eyes; and so they wander about in distraction.

    Saheeh International

    Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.

    Shakir

    As to those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have surely made their deeds fair-seeming to them, but they blindly wander on.

    Daryabadi

    Verily those who believe not in the Hereafter - fairseeming unto them We have made their works, so that they wander perplexed.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly:

    • ﭲ ﭳ ﭴ ﭵ ﭶ ﭷ ﭸ ﭹ ﭺ ﭻﭼ

    Transliteration

    olaika allatheena lahum sooo alAAathabi wahum fee alakhirati humu alakhsaroona

    Yusuf Ali

    Such are they for whom a grievous Penalty is (waiting); and in the Hereafter theirs will be the greatest loss.

    Saheeh International

    Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.

    Shakir

    These are they who shall have an evil punishment, and in the hereafter they shall be the greatest losers.

    Daryabadi

    Those are they for whom shall be an evil torment. And in the Hereafter they shall be the greatest losers.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    they are the ones who will have the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers.

    • ﭽ ﭾ ﭿ ﮀ ﮁ ﮂ ﮃﮄ

    Transliteration

    wainnaka latulaqqa alqurana min ladun hakeemin AAaleemin

    Yusuf Ali

    As to thee, the Qur'an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing.

    Saheeh International

    And indeed, [O Muhammad], you receive the Qur'an from one Wise and Knowing.

    Shakir

    And most surely you are made to receive the Quran from the Wise, the Knowing Allah.

    Daryabadi

    And verily thou art receiving the Qur'an) from before the Wise, the Knowing.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    You have received this Quran from One who is all-wise, all-knowing.

    • ﮅ ﮆ ﮇ ﮈ ﮉ ﮊ ﮋ ﮌ ﮍ ﮎ ﮏ ﮐ ﮑ ﮒ ﮓ ﮔﮕ

    Transliteration

    ith qala moosa liahlihi innee anastu naran saateekum minha bikhabarin aw ateekum bishihabin qabasin laAAallakum tastaloona

    Yusuf Ali

    Behold! Moses said to his family: "I perceive a fire; soon will I bring you from there some information, or I will bring you a burning brand to light our fuel, that ye may warm yourselves.

    Saheeh International

    [Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves."

    Shakir

    When Musa said to his family: Surely I see fire; I will bring to you from it some news, or I will bring to you therefrom a burning firebrand so that you may warm yourselves.

    Daryabadi

    Recall what time Musa said unto his household: verily I perceive a fire afar; I shall forthwith bring you tidings thereof, or bring unto you a brand lighted therefrom, haply ye may warm yourselves.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Tell of Moses who said to his family, ‘I have seen a fire. I will bring you news from there, or a burning brand for you to warm yourselves.’

    • ﮖ ﮗ ﮘ ﮙ ﮚ ﮛ ﮜ ﮝ ﮞ ﮟ ﮠ ﮡ ﮢ ﮣﮤ

    Transliteration

    falamma jaaha noodiya an boorika man fee alnnari waman hawlaha wasubhana allahi rabbi alAAalameena

    Yusuf Ali

    But when he came to the (fire), a voice was heard: "Blessed are those in the fire and those around: and glory to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

    Saheeh International

    But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allah, Lord of the worlds.

    Shakir

    So when he came to it a voice was uttered saying: Blessed is Whoever is in the fire and whatever is about it; and glory be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds;

    Daryabadi

    Then when he came unto it, he was cried unto Thus; Blest is whosoever is in the fire and whosoever is around it; and hallowed be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    When he came up to it, a voice called out, ‘Blessed be whoever is near this fire, and whoever is around it! Glory be to God, Lord of the Universe!

    • ﮥ ﮦ ﮧ ﮨ ﮩ ﮪﮫ

    Transliteration

    ya moosa innahu ana allahu alAAazeezu alhakeemu

    Yusuf Ali

    "O Moses! verily, I am Allah, the exalted in might, the wise!....

    Saheeh International

    O Moses, indeed it is I - Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

    Shakir

    O Musa! surely I am Allah, the Mighty, the Wise;

    Daryabadi

    O Musa! verily it is I, Allah, the Mighty the Wise!

    Wahiduddin Khan

    O Moses, I am God, the Powerful, the Wise.

    • ﮬ ﮭﮮ ﮯ ﮰ ﮱ ﯓ ﯔ ﯕ ﯖ ﯗ ﯘﯙ ﯚ ﯛ ﯜ ﯝ ﯞ ﯟ ﯠ ﯡﯢ

    Transliteration

    waalqi AAasaka falamma raaha tahtazzu kaannaha jannun walla mudbiran walam yuAAaqqib ya moosa la takhaf innee la yakhafu ladayya almursaloona

    Yusuf Ali

    "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as messengers have no fear,-

    Saheeh International

    And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.

    Shakir

    And cast down your staff. So when he saw it in motion as if it were a serpent, he turned back retreating and did not return: O Musa! fear not; surely the apostles shall not fear in My presence;

    Daryabadi

    And cast thou down thy staff. Then when he saw it wriggling as though it were a serpent, he turned in flight and looked not back. O Musa! fear thou not; verily in My presence the sent ones fear not.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Throw down your staff.’ But when he saw it moving like a snake, he turned and fled. ‘Moses, do not be afraid! The messengers need have no fear in My presence;

    • ﯣ ﯤ ﯥ ﯦ ﯧ ﯨ ﯩ ﯪ ﯫ ﯬ ﯭﯮ

    Transliteration

    illa man thalama thumma baddala husnan baAAda sooin fainnee ghafoorun raheemun

    Yusuf Ali

    "But if any have done wrong and have thereafter substituted good to take the place of evil, truly, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

    Saheeh International

    Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful.

    Shakir

    Neither he who has been unjust, then he does good instead after evil, for surely I am the Forgiving, the Merciful:

    Daryabadi

    Excepting any who may have done wrong and thereafter changeth evil for good then verily I am Forgiving, Merciful.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    as for those who do wrong and then do good after evil, I am most forgiving, most merciful.

    • ﯯ ﯰ ﯱ ﯲ ﯳ ﯴ ﯵ ﯶ ﯷﯸ ﯹ ﯺ ﯻ ﯼ ﯽ ﯾﯿ ﰀ ﰁ ﰂ ﰃﰄ

    Transliteration

    waadkhil yadaka fee jaybika takhruj baydaa min ghayri sooin fee tisAAi ayatin ila firAAawna waqawmihi innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena

    Yusuf Ali

    "Now put thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm): (these are) among the nine Signs (thou wilt take) to Pharaoh and his people: for they are a people rebellious in transgression."

    Saheeh International

    And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."

    Shakir

    And enter your hand into the opening of your bosom, it shall come forth white without evil; among nine signs to Firon and his people, surely they are a transgressing people.

    Daryabadi

    And put thy hand into thy bosom, it Shall come forth white, with out hurt: amongst nine signs unto Fir'awn and his people. Verily they have been a people transgressing.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Now put your hand inside your cloak next to your bosom and it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This will be one of the nine signs for Pharaoh and his people: for truly they are a rebellious people.’

    • ﰅ ﰆ ﰇ ﰈ ﰉ ﰊ ﰋ ﰌﰍ

    Transliteration

    falamma jaathum ayatuna mubsiratan qaloo hatha sihrun mubeenun

    Yusuf Ali

    But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!"

    Saheeh International

    But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic."

    Shakir

    So when Our clear signs came to them, they said: This is clear enchantment.

    Daryabadi

    Then when Our signs came unto them illuminating, they said: this is a magic manifest.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    But when Our signs came to them in all their clarity they said, ‘This is clearly sorcery!’

    • ﭑ ﭒ ﭓ ﭔ ﭕ ﭖﭗ ﭘ ﭙ ﭚ ﭛ ﭜﭝ

    Transliteration

    wajahadoo biha waistayqanatha anfusuhum thulman waAAuluwwan faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena

    Yusuf Ali

    And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly!

    Saheeh International

    And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters.

    Shakir

    And they denied them unjustly and proudly while their soul had been convinced of them; consider, then how was the end of the mischief-makers.

    Daryabadi

    And they gainsaid them, out of spite and arrogance, although their souls were convinced thereof. So behold! what hath been the end of the corruptors.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    And they persisted in rejecting them wrongfully and arrogantly, while in their hearts they were convinced of their truth. Observe, then, how evil was the fate of the evil-doers.

    • ﭞ ﭟ ﭠ ﭡ ﭢﭣ ﭤ ﭥ ﭦ ﭧ ﭨ ﭩ ﭪ ﭫ ﭬ ﭭﭮ

    Transliteration

    walaqad atayna dawooda wasulaymana AAilman waqala alhamdu lillahi allathee faddalana AAala katheerin min AAibadihi almumineena

    Yusuf Ali

    We gave (in the past) knowledge to David and Solomon: And they both said: "Praise be to Allah, Who has favoured us above many of his servants who believe!"

    Saheeh International

    And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise [is due] to Allah, who has favored us over many of His believing servants."

    Shakir

    And certainly We gave knowledge to Dawood and Sulaiman, and they both said: Praise be to Allah, Who has made us to excel many of His believing servants.

    Daryabadi

    And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Daud and Sulaiman a knowledge, and the twain said: praise unto Allah Who hath preferred us above many of His believing bondmen!

    Wahiduddin Khan

    We bestowed knowledge on David and Solomon and they both said, ‘Praise be to God who has exalted us above many of His believing servants.’

    • ﭯ ﭰ ﭱﭲ ﭳ ﭴ ﭵ ﭶ ﭷ ﭸ ﭹ ﭺ ﭻ ﭼﭽ ﭾ ﭿ ﮀ ﮁ ﮂﮃ

    Transliteration

    wawaritha sulaymanu dawooda waqala ya ayyuha alnnasu AAullimna mantiqa alttayri waooteena min kulli shayin inna hatha lahuwa alfadlu almubeenu

    Yusuf Ali

    And Solomon was David's heir. He said: "O ye people! We have been taught the speech of birds, and on us has been bestowed (a little) of all things: this is indeed Grace manifest (from Allah.)"

    Saheeh International

    And Solomon inherited David. He said, "O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given from all things. Indeed, this is evident bounty."

    Shakir

    And Sulaiman was Dawood's heir, and he said: O men! we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given all things; most surely this is manifest grace.

    Daryabadi

    And Sulaiman inherited from Daud. And he said: O mankind! verily have been taught the diction of we birds, and we have been vcuchsafed of every thing; and verily this is grace manifest.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Solomon succeeded David. He said, ‘Know, my people, that we have been taught the speech of birds and endowed with all good things. Surely this is God’s manifest grace.’

    • ﮄ ﮅ ﮆ ﮇ ﮈ ﮉ ﮊ ﮋ ﮌﮍ

    Transliteration

    wahushira lisulaymana junooduhu mina aljinni waalinsi waalttayri fahum yoozaAAoona

    Yusuf Ali

    And before Solomon were marshalled his hosts,- of Jinns and men and birds, and they were all kept in order and ranks.

    Saheeh International

    And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the jinn and men and birds, and they were [marching] in rows.

    Shakir

    And his hosts of the jinn and the men and the birds were gathered to him, and they were formed into groups.

    Daryabadi

    And there were gathered unto Sulaiman his hosts of jinns and mankind and birds, and they were set in bands.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Solomon’s hosts of jinn and men and birds, were all gathered together in his presence and were ranged in battle order,

    • ﮎ ﮏ ﮐ ﮑ ﮒ ﮓ ﮔ ﮕ ﮖ ﮗ ﮘ ﮙ ﮚ ﮛ ﮜ ﮝ ﮞ ﮟ ﮠﮡ

    Transliteration

    hatta itha ataw AAala wadi alnnamli qalat namlatun ya ayyuha alnnamlu odkhuloo masakinakum la yahtimannakum sulaymanu wajunooduhu wahum la yashAAuroona

    Yusuf Ali

    At length, when they came to a (lowly) valley of ants, one of the ants said: "O ye ants, get into your habitations, lest Solomon and his hosts crush you (under foot) without knowing it."

    Saheeh International

    Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not."

    Shakir

    Until when they came to the valley of the Naml, a Namlite said: O Naml! enter your houses, (that) Sulaiman and his hosts may not crush you while they do not know.

    Daryabadi

    Until when they came unto the valley of the ants, an ant said: O ants! enter Your habitations lest Sulaiman and his hosts crush you while they perceive not.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    and when they came to the Valley of the Ants, one ant said, ‘Ants! Go into your dwellings, in case Solomon and his hosts inadvertently crush you.’

    • ﮢ ﮣ ﮤ ﮥ ﮦ ﮧ ﮨ ﮩ ﮪ ﮫ ﮬ ﮭ ﮮ ﮯ ﮰ ﮱ ﯓ ﯔ ﯕ ﯖ ﯗ ﯘ ﯙ ﯚﯛ

    Transliteration

    fatabassama dahikan min qawliha waqala rabbi awziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAala walidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahu waadkhilnee birahmatika fee AAibadika alssaliheena

    Yusuf Ali

    So he smiled, amused at her speech; and he said: "O my Lord! so order me that I may be grateful for Thy favours, which thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may work the righteousness that will please Thee: And admit me, by Thy Grace, to the ranks of Thy righteous Servants."

    Saheeh International

    So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."

    Shakir

    So he smiled, wondering at her word, and said: My Lord! grant me that I should be grateful for Thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I should do good such as Thou art pleased with, and make me enter, by Thy mercy, into Thy servants, the good ones.

    Daryabadi

    So he smiled, amused at her speech, and said: my Lord! arouse me that I should be thankful for Thy favour wherewith Thou hast favoured me and my parents, and that I should work righteously pleasing Thee, and out of Thy mercy enter me among Thine righteous bondmen.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Solomon smiled broadly at its words and said, ‘Lord, inspire me to be thankful for the blessings You have granted me and my parents, and to do good deeds that please You; and include me, by Your grace, among Your righteous servants!’

    • ﯜ ﯝ ﯞ ﯟ ﯠ ﯡ ﯢ ﯣ ﯤ ﯥ ﯦ ﯧﯨ

    Transliteration

    watafaqqada alttayra faqala ma liya la ara alhudhuda am kana mina alghaibeena

    Yusuf Ali

    And he took a muster of the Birds; and he said: "Why is it I see not the Hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees?

    Saheeh International

    And he took attendance of the birds and said, "Why do I not see the hoopoe - or is he among the absent?

    Shakir

    And he reviewed the birds, then said: How is it I see not the hoopoe or is it that he is of the absentees?

    Daryabadi

    And he sought after the birds and said: what aileth me that I see not the hoopoe; is he among the absentees?

    Wahiduddin Khan

    Then Solomon inspected the birds, and said, ‘How is it that I do not see the hoopoe? Is he absent then?

    • ﯩ ﯪ ﯫ ﯬ ﯭ ﯮ ﯯ ﯰ ﯱﯲ

    Transliteration

    laoAAaththibannahu AAathaban shadeedan aw laathbahannahu aw layatiyannee bisultanin mubeenin

    Yusuf Ali

    "I will certainly punish him with a severe penalty, or execute him, unless he bring me a clear reason (for absence)."

    Saheeh International

    I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization."

    Shakir

    I will most certainly punish him with a severe punishment, or kill him, or he shall bring to me a clear plea.

    Daryabadi

    Surely I shall torment him with a severe torment, or I shall slaughter him, unless he bringeth unto me a warranty manifest.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    I shall surely punish him severely or order him to be executed, unless he gives me a good reason for his absence.’

    • ﯳ ﯴ ﯵ ﯶ ﯷ ﯸ ﯹ ﯺ ﯻ ﯼ ﯽ ﯾ ﯿ ﰀﰁ

    Transliteration

    famakatha ghayra baAAeedin faqala ahattu bima lam tuhit bihi wajituka min sabain binabain yaqeenin

    Yusuf Ali

    But the Hoopoe tarried not far: he (came up and) said: "I have compassed (territory) which thou hast not compassed, and I have come to thee from Saba with tidings true.

    Saheeh International

    But the hoopoe stayed not long and said, "I have encompassed [in knowledge] that which you have not encompassed, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news.

    Shakir

    And he tarried not long, then said: I comprehend that which you do not comprehend and I have brought to you a sure information from Sheba.

    Daryabadi

    Buthe tarried not far, and he said: I have encompassed that which thou hast- not encompassed, and I come unto thee from Saba with a tidings sure.

    Wahiduddin Khan

    But he was not long in coming, and said, ‘I have learnt something you did not know. I have come to you from Sheba with reliable news.
