تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ 1
Dr. Mustafa Khattab May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and he ˹himself˺ perish!

مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ 2
Dr. Mustafa Khattab Neither his wealth nor ˹worldly˺ gains will benefit him.

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ 3
Dr. Mustafa Khattab He will burn in a flaming Fire,

وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ 4
Dr. Mustafa Khattab and ˹so will˺ his wife, the carrier of ˹thorny˺ kindling,1

فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِنْ مَسَدٍ 5
Dr. Mustafa Khattab around her neck will be a rope of palm-fibre.1
